Inspections are strictly performed in the whole production procedure.

The material requirements for products of grade 8.8 and above shall have sufficient hardenability to ensure that the core of the bolt thread cross-section obtains about 90% of martensite in the hardened state and before tempering. The content of martensite after quenching is closely related to the contact fatigue life and toughness of the bolts. The structure obtained after normal quenching of high-strength bolts should be lath martensite and needle martensite. For large bolts larger than M64, approximately 90% of the martensite structure must be achieved.
